With solar making huge leaps and bounds in 2015, it’s no wonder the solar industry is creating tens of thousands of jobs in the Golden State and heating up the economy. In 2015, California’s solar employment grew 38%, creating over 20,000 new jobs and bringing the total to 75,598 solar jobs according to reports by The Solar Foundation.
This is thanks in part to California legislature’s continued forward thinking when it comes to clean energy, specifically its recent decision regarding net energy metering, extending the federal investment tax credit and the pledge for 50% renewable portfolio standard by 2030.
The good news is that this isn’t just happening in California. Data shows that half of the states in the US have at least doubled their solar workforce since 2012. Lets continue this growth trend and keep our sights set on a brighter future.
